At the yoga studio I’ve been going to, they have a jar full of folded paper to pick from before each practice. On each piece of paper is a quote that has been picked in efforts to inspire. Hence the name of the yoga studio, inspire. So anyways, I really enjoyed tonight’s quote, so I figured I’d share it here.
Happiness is an attitude. We either make ourselves miserable, or happy and strong. The amount of work is the same.
I like it so much, because I feel as though this is what separates optimists and pessimists. If we want to be happy in this hectic world, no one is getting in our way but ourselves. This is why some people view the same situations completely differently. Some have chosen to take on the attitude of happiness and optimism, accepting every obstacle as a challenge to better ourselves and push forth. And others have chosen the pessimistic route, where every challenge becomes just another obstacle in the way. The way we approach these things is completely in our own hands. Nobody is responsible for your happiness but you. If you don’t like something, change it. Don’t complain about it. Nobody wants to hear someone complain. Why not smile, endure, and possibly even inspire others instead? ; )
